Overview

Sainji Corn Village tour takes you to the village Sainji called “The Corn Village“, located in the Tehri-Jaunpur block, which is on the western side of Mussoorie. Sainji is known as the corn village as can see the corn crops drying on the porches of almost all houses there. The village is one of the very few authentic villages surviving the fast changing winds of modernization. The rich village heritage is market by remarkable vernacular architecture, water mills, old style organic farming, splendid music, language, costumes etc. An authentic jaunpuri meal will be served and travelers are made to interact with village people. Guests can also try their hand at the watermills known as “gharaat“, which is a centuries old technology to use the water pressure to grind flour & grains. Amazing village culture and the very warm & hospitable people of village Sainji, make it one of the “must do” day trips from Mussoorie.
