Chhaskhet Nature Walk starts from Clouds End (about 7 km from Mussoorie) taking you on the scenic nature trail through oak & pine forest. This walk takes you to a serene & pristine mountain village Chhaskhet (alt. 1,800 m) which offers brilliant views of Dehradun valley. Chhaskhet nature trail is 3-4 hour forest walk, suitable for people looking for a nature walk near Mussoorie. The walk offers a rich insight into the diverse flora & fauna of the Shivalik mountain region. Mountain langurs, Himalayan eagle “griffon” & sometimes the elusive barking deer “kaakar” are some of the wildlife that can be spotted on the Chhaskhet Nature walk. During monsoon season (Jul-early Sept), you can find more than 25+ species of Himalayan ferns on this trail, some of which are a part of medicinal Himalayan flora. It is indeed a highly recommended one day tour near Mussoorie.
