We have special swiss cottage camps with furniture bedding, attached western toilets and running water at our mountain campsite near Mussoorie.

Getting There

Arrival In Dehradun :

By Air – Daily flights are operated by Jet Air and Spice Jet from Delhi to Dehradun

Nearest Airport at Jolly Grant is 24 km (30 min) from Dehradun city

(This is just a rough idea on flights / please check with airline for current flight schedules)

By Rail – Dehradun is well connected to Delhi by daily service of Shatabdi Express and Mussoorie Express

By Road – Dehradun is approx. 250 km by road from Delhi .
One can book for an overnight Volvo bus, approx. 7 hrs (recommended)
or hire a cab from Delhi , approx. 6 hrs

Dehradun to Mussoorie :

Mussoorie is just 35 km or an hour’s drive from Dehradun.

Public Transport – Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC) buses are available from Mussoorie Hill Depot near Dehradun railway station. Buses from Dehradun to Mussoorie ply from 6 am to 8 pm (Fare INR 60 per person – one way)

Private Taxi – One can hire a private taxi from taxi stand near the hill depot. Taxi association charges from Dehradun to Mussoorie are INR 1,060

Mussoorie to Campsite :

Camp Yamuna Cottages are located at Yamuna Bridge which is just 28 km (45 mins) drive from Gandhi Chowk in Mussoorie. Taxis are available from Gandhi Chowk or Library taxi stand to George Everest. (Fare ₹ 1,100 one way)

Backpack Checklist

What To Carry during Camping

  1. rain jacket / poncho ( it can rain any day in Mountains )
  2. a small hand towel
  3. spare T-shirt & lower
  4. a pair of flip flops to stroll at campsite
  5. sunscreen ( in case its sunny) / sunglasses / sun cap
  6. a personal torch (for camp tent)
  7. a proper water bottle ( must . . we try to avoid using disposable bottles on trails)
  8. comfortable sport shoes with a good grip

Clothing Suggestions for Evening/Night at Campsite :

Mountains get quite cold in the evening/night so be properly equipped :

  1. woollen sweater / sweatshirt / Hooded zipper (highly recommended)
  2. light winter jacket ( not a bulky one ) – winter only
  3. a warm woollen cap – winter
  4. gloves ( optional ) – winter only
  5. inner thermals ( keep them as you might feel cold at night ) – winter only

Campsite Safety & Instructions

  1. The campsite is located near a dense forest region, so never venture alone into the forest
  2. Always stay with camp / trail guides when exploring forest area near campsite or during nature trails
  3. Follow the time guidelines set by your camp guides regarding forest walks or nature trails
  4. Always inform the camp staff when leaving the campsite, even for 5 minutes
  5. Our camp support staff comprises of young village men who work very hard to ensure cooking of healthy meals, safe & enjoyable camping for you high up in the mountains SO BE POLITE TO THEM
  6. Please follow all the eco friendly practices as guided by the camp guides to keep our mountain in their pristine state.

Remember Its Mountain Camping

  1. Camping package includes all meals – breakfast, lunch & dinner (healthy & nutritious food) but don’t expect hotel like facilities at mountain campsites (simple Indian food is served)
  2. Our campsite staff can’t entertain any food dish / vegetable request which is not available locally
  3. Bottled drinking water needs to be purchased from the campsite (Bisleri / Aquafina etc. @ 25 per bottle)
  4. USE OF ALCOHOL OR ANY INTOXICATING SUBSTANCE ON CAMPSITE PREMISES IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED
  5. Don’t use any foul language on our campsite
  6. Any kind of rude or abusive behaviour with any of our staff (from Camp Managers to cooks to helpers) will result in the cancellation of your camping stay there & then (without any refund) – SO GIVE RESPECT TO EARN IT
  7. Follow all the eco-friendly practices on & around the campsite as guided by our camp staff. Be sensitive towards the flora & fauna of the region to keep our mountain in their pristine form
